Annual Youth Triathlon

Happens Early May

The 6th Annual Swim for Smiles Youth Triathlon will be held on May 6, 2012 and is open to kids ages 5 – 19. There are 2 courses, with one being a longer distance course, and the other being a shorter distance course.

We also allow a limited number of relay teams to compete. These teams can be made up of kids of any and all ages.

Last year’s event drew over 800 participants and was the largest kid’s triathlon in the USA. But, this year we are ready to accommodate over 1000 kids with a new course and even more fun activities both before and after the race.

Registration is now open!

Swim for Smiles FUNdays of Summer

Happens Midsummer

The name says it all! It’s FUN, and we raise FUNds to benefit the N.C. Children’s Hospital.

Swim for Smiles provides local swim teams with envelopes to collect donations throughout the summer swim season. A thermometer tally-board is used to keep tack of team totals.

Then at the end of the summer season we have a day of crazy relays, Wacky Relay Day! Everyone gets a chance to come swim and have fun at the Koury Natatorium. The events, just to name a few, include a wacky stroke relay and a parent/child relay. There is also food provided for everyone and prizes for all the winning relay teams.

Wacky Relay Day is also where each teams final fundraising totals will be announced. The winning team receives an ice cream party sponsored by TCBY and a Wacky Relay Day trophy. While the top fundraising boy and girl each get an iPad 2. But to be sure that no one gets left out, every swimmer who raises $25 or more gets a Swim for Smiles FUNdays of Summer T-shirt!

Annual Greensboro Youth Triathlon

Happens Late Summer/Early Autumn

Thanks to a grant awarded to us by USAT along with the Brader-Araje Foundation with the goal of growing the sport of youth triathlon, we now have an event in Greensboro!

We’ve partnered partnered with the brand-new Greensboro Aquatics Center to bring the Triad’s first-ever USA-Triathlon sanctioned race with the same course as Youth Nationals.

The event is open to kids ages 5-17 and is for all levels of youth participants.

Every finisher receives a medal and the top three finishers of each age group receive prizes.
